I started writing in 1984 when I was 7 years old, after a major surgery put me in a wheelchair for 6 months and I was bored and wanted to entertain myself.  I quickly realised I loved writing so I have carried on ever since.

My first published work was a poem in 'Cat World' magazine when I was 13.

I self-printed a book about vaccinations in 1998 and sold over 3,000 copies and later published an updated version of the book.  I have also written a book about breast feeding.

I helped compile GCSE course material on genetics for UK school children and have also just recently co-written a parenting ethics book, published by Cengage Learning.

I've had various one off articles published in magazines such as Best, Here's Health, Eva, Our Baby, and Mothering.

I've been the infertility feature writer for Suite 101 since 2006 and am now the cancer and respiratory diseases feature writer for empowHer.com

I also have a column in 'The Mother' magazine, where I write about vaccines and related health issues.

I also host talks and have appeared in various TV shows such as the John Stapleton Show, Central Weekend, News 24, local news stations and more recently, the documentary, 'Other People's Breast Milk'.

I ocassionally speak for radio shows such as BBC World Service, Derby radio, Southern Counties and Talk Radio Europe.
